This week the Senate is in session and the House is in recess.
The Supreme Court is nearing its summer recess with only a couple more weeks to go. We can expect the Court to release decisions on several high-profile cases, including:
- The administration’s efforts to stop children of illegal aliens from automatically gaining birthright citizenship.
- The administration’s efforts to end Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for immigrants from Haiti and Syria.
- Wolford v. Lopez, which challenges Hawaii’s gun-control law prohibiting lawful concealed carrying of firearms in most parts of the state.
For many Americans, following SCOTUS decisions has become a favorite pastime.
But what if you could follow state and federal legislation on any given issue with the same precision?
A new organization called the Institute for Legislative Analysis makes this possible. The Institute maintains a massive database of federal legislation and more than 100,000 bills introduced in all 50 state legislatures. On their website you’ll find a ranking of every U.S. state in areas such as election integrity, low taxes, individual liberties, and health care.
Over the past three years, ILA’s database has become the secret weapon of conservative activists and national advocacy organizations. You can learn more in the interview below with CEO Ryan McGowan.
