Congress remains out-of-session and the November 3 elections are looming in a few short weeks—but there is still plenty going on in Washington.
A new memo released from Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) reveals more about the stunning overreach by President Biden’s Justice Department: According to the memo, former Special Counsel Jack Smith obtained information on at least 639,000 Republican donors and voters.
This data includes names, birth dates, physical addresses, email addresses, party registrations, occupations, places of employment, donation amounts, and credit card information. Smith even went so far as to catalog sales of red MAGA hats and other Trump campaign merchandise.
Chairman Grassley said this about the memo:
This update shows that Jack Smith and the Biden Justice Department collected incredibly invasive donor data—and voter data—beyond what could conceivably be necessary for him or his team… This update further corroborates that Smith and his partisan team aimed to map out the entire Republican Party apparatus.
It seems the Biden Administration was willing to go to nearly any length to stop President Trump and his supporters. Chairman Grassley’s efforts to shine a light on Operation Arctic Frost are ongoing—despite stubborn opposition from other members of the Senate Judiciary Committee. Stay tuned.
Speaking of investigations, federal law enforcement agents executed a court-authorized search warrant on Monday at the Washington, D.C.-area home of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation.
Reports indicate that the investigation centers around immigration fraud, false statements on government documents, and a potential conspiracy to commit fraud. Omar was born in Somalia and moved to the United States with her family in the 1990s. There have long been questions about her and her family’s immigration status, including allegations that she may have married her biological brother in order to commit immigration fraud.
Despite enthusiastically cheering on the many investigations of President Trump, some politicians are now in meltdown mode over the investigation of Omar’s home. For example, a joint statement by House Democrat leadership said, “The Trump Administration’s raid on Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s home is deeply disturbing and raises serious questions about the continued corrupt weaponization of the federal government against adversaries.”
The irony of the outcry is hard to ignore given everything that has happened in the past few years. As usual, the left wants one set of rules for themselves and another for their political opponents (and for the rest of the country).
