As Director of Development, Richard leads a talented team with the happy task of engaging with supporters across the country, building lasting relationships that endure beyond political moments, in order to make permanent a conservative culture in Washington.
Richard started his career on Capitol Hill in 2003, interning for his hometown congressman, Adam Putnam, before joining the Office of Governor Jeb Bush in D.C. and then Tallahassee. Assisting the governor with economic and aerospace policy led to an appointment at NASA under President George W. Bush until the end of his second term. From there, Richard joined The Heritage Foundation’s Development team before coming to CPI in 2018.
Born and raised in Winter Haven, Florida, Richard graduated from Furman University in 2001 and earned a master of arts degree with an emphasis in fundraising from Avila University in 2017. He resides in Winter Haven, FL, with his wife, Marley, and their three young children, serving as an elder in their church and lending a hand with homeschooling.
